Volunteer for LIFT Grundy

Our volunteer drivers are the lifeblood of LIFT and provide a high-impact service to the community at large. Drivers will be trained and provided clear directions for the volunteer work from the LIFT Grundy dispatch. Driver Qualifications and Requirements

• Minimum age of 21

• Completion of an application

• Completion of a background check

• Valid TN driver’s license and safe driving record

• Automobile insurance that meets the TN minimum (25/50/25)

• Maintained, clean vehicle that is safe to operate

• Attend the training session (and attend annual refresher training)

• Access to a smartphone

• Commit to at least one drive per month 

 

Driver Code of Conduct

• I will conduct myself in a professional courteous manner, be friendly, and understanding

• I will not accept tips, donations, or request any meals or gas to be paid by the rider

• I will take my volunteer work seriously

• I will treat everyone as an individual, and whatever their personal difficulties, emphasize their abilities

• I will not make derogatory or discriminatory remarks

• I will refrain from giving personal advice on family, personal, or medical matters

• I will not use alcoholic beverages or mood-altering drugs while serving as a volunteer

• I will refrain from using my cell phone while driving

• I realize that sexual harassment with riders is not professional and not allowed

• I will refrain from smoking in order to provide a smoke-free environment

• I understand I will must keep rider information confidential

• I recognize that as a volunteer, I represent the LIFT Grundy program. I have an obligation to uphold this Code of Conduct
